Vassilis Michaelides' "The 9th of July 1821"

2. Kioroglou

Midnight slipped away and dawn glowed up
And Kioroglou who had a good, a very good soul
Sneaked out of his house and went to see the Bishop
And woke him up and sat beside him and said to him :
"It's at my house, Kypriane, my coach harnessed,
My cart, Kypriane, is at my house parked
And if you want to get away from certain hanging
And if you want to get away and save yourself from death
Go with my harem secretly to Skala
The embassies are open, for you to go and hide.
